Criminal Law Areas of Specialty

Misdemeanors

The smaller classification of Texas crimes that still carry substantial fines, possible jail time, and other consequences. Let us plan your defense.

Felony Offenses

We approach felony cases aggressively, pursing every lead to try and have your case eliminated before you are formally charged with the offense.

Family Violence & Assaults

Family Violence assaults carry specific consequences that can harm your parent/child relationship goals along with your divorce case. Even simple assaults need careful consideration.

Drug Possession Crimes

Drug Possession charges often deal with search and seizure issues that need to be considered for a proper defense. Without a clear plan of attack, a conviction can hurt your ability to drive.

DWI/DWLS

Driving While Intoxicated cases hurt not only your freedom but also your ability to drive and your insurance rates. Driving While License Suspended is a technical case that sometimes stems from a DWI or too many no insurance tickets.

Federal Criminal Defense

With relatively few criminal charges filed by the Federal Government, you can be certain these are serious offenses. These include charges filed by the ATF, FBI, DEA, IRS.

Sex Crimes

When you are accused of committing a sex crime you need a defense that is familiar with the applicable science and tests to assert your innocence. These cases carry serious consequences that can involve lifetime reporting as a sex offender.

Firearms & Weapons Crimes

These offenses deal with all aspects of weapons. From owning or possessing military-grade weapons to the manufacture and sale of prohibited weapons.

Expunction of Criminal Records

If you are charged with a criminal offense and those charges are either dismissed, dropped or you are found "not guilty" after a Trial then you likely will be able to erase all government records of that charge.

General Criminal Process

With each Client, Anderson Legal Group works aggressively to have the criminal charge dismissed. This is done with the use of a Grand Jury Packet if applicable. This is an aggressive stance to try to get more serious crimes dismissed before they are even assigned to a Court. If the case moves forward, and if the Client desires to enter a plea bargain, we will ardently seek the best possible plea bargain agreement. However, if the plea bargain offers from the prosecution are not acceptable to our Client, or if the Client is not guilty of the charged offense, a Trial may be necessary. Anderson Legal Group will work to present the case to the Court and/or Jury to achieve the best possible results.

Crime Classifications

Generally, Crimes are broken down into two major categories – Misdemeanors and Felonies. In Texas, generally, the maximum exposure for punishment for a Misdemeanor is up to one year in jail and/or a fine of $4,000.00. On the other hand, the maximum punishment is administered for a Capital Felony. That punishment is life in prison or death. Please visit the rest of our website for additional information.
