Family Law Areas of Specialty

Agreed Divorce

Agreed Divorces (also known as Uncontested Divorces) occur when both spouses agree on each and every aspect of the divorce matter. Often, we help clients by offering creative suggestions for ways to work out a settlement instead of pursuing relief in Court.

Complex Divorce

Complex divorces (also known as Contested Divorces) occur when the spouses do not agree on every aspect of the divorce. This can be one issue or a multitude of issues including custody and/or property. As your attorneys, we work to prepare the matter and you for courtroom litigation.

Child Custody Cases

Custody cases involve five main issues: Conservatorship, Possession, Child Support, Health Insurance and Residency Restriction. We will work to explain all options to empower you in raising your child.

Modification Cases

Modification cases deal with changes to the parent/child relationship after a Court Order has been entered. Parties typically change an aspect of Conservatorship, Possession, Child Support, Health Insurance, or Residency Restrictions.

Paternity Cases

Paternity cases deal with establishing the formal parent/child relationship with a Court Order. The parties formalize provisions regarding Conservatorship, Possession, Child Support, Health Insurance or Residency Restrictions.

Mediation

The process of attempting to resolve a family law or divorce matter without Court intervention. This is a time for the parties to be creative and to attend to every detail necessary to resolve the matter in a customized manner.

Contempt Cases

The process of enforcing a Court Order against a party. We help clients in both enforcing Orders and in defending against these claims.

Collaborative Law

Collaborative Law is an alternative to dealing with divorce and parent/child issues outside of Court. It is not right for every case, but sometimes it is very productive and helpful because it attempts to work to find a solution with all interested parties.

CPS Cases

We help protect parents' rights when the State of Texas attempts to limit access or remove children.

Protective Orders

When family violence is an issue, we help seek out Orders to protect the innocent. We are also retained to help parties defend against these accusations.

Premarital Agreements

Premarital Agreements are generally used to limit the issues in the case a divorce is needed in the future. These agreements often help avoid litigation or at least minimize it.

Adoptions

Adoption cases are used for legally establishing a parent-child relationship.
